Recommendations:
Used in the manufacture of organic chemicals, colors and dyes, viscose rayon, pulp and paper, rubber.
Sodium Sulphide is Used as a sharpening agent in soaking and dehairing processes in the leather industry, a flotation agent in ore treatment, an analytical and photographic reagent and a chemical intermediate.
Sodium Sulphide is Used in the hydrometallurgy of gold ores, engraving, lithography and cotton printing.
Caution
Inhalation: Inhalation of the dust can cause sore throat, coughing and shortness of breath. Very high or very long exposures could lead to a build-up of fluid in the lungs (pulmonary edema) and, possibly, death.
Skin Contact: Can cause severe skin irritation and burns.
Eye Contact: Can cause redness, pain, blurred vision and burns which are slow healing. Blindness may result
